Hi - Should have posted this on Thursday.... forgot...sorry!!
Hello fellow dancers and friends,
We have been part of this special line dance community for several years now, hosting dance events, teaching, performing and choreographing dances and shows, traveling nationwide as well as worldwide to spread and share our passion for line dance. Last year alone, we traveled 120,000 miles! We have danced alongside many of you and have come to know you and cherish the many friendships formed through this common thread of love of dance. We could never have imagined that line dancing would take us all over the world, to places we never would have visited, had it not been for dancing! Doug and I are blessed to have been able to do this together, having met each other dancing! We have often felt guilty to call this "work" because we have enjoyed it so much.
Now another opportunity has come our way, a totally new and exciting venture...
There have been tears of joy and sadness as we go through this roller coaster of emotions! God has opened another door for us and we are happy, yet sad, because this new endeavor will require our full dedication and attention and will require us to come off the road and work in one location. We have acquired a beautiful theater which we have named The Grand Majestic. It seats 1200 people and sits on top of a hill in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, nestled in the beautiful Smokey Mountains. Where is Pigeon Forge? It is a three hour drive from Nashville, just minutes away from Dolly Parton's theme park Dollywood, borders Gatlinburg and is 40 minutes from downtown Knoxville. We, alongside our dear friends Barry and Dari Anne Amato, will be sharing this new adventure together - we will be producing and starring in a 90 minute full musical production we have written and titled "Swing Time." It is a show set in the 1940's and based on the music of that fabulous era with a story line, plenty of music, singing and dancing. We open May 2nd of this year! Thus, we regret that we have had to cancel some of the events we were scheduled to be present at. We thank the Event Directors for their understanding and well wishes... it was very difficult to make these decisions, knowing how much we would miss seeing all of you. However, we do plan on still attending and teaching at the same events we have been invited to during our off season months of January and February. We will continue to host our Bonanza Bash Memorial Day weekend in May, the Mod Quad Dirty Dancing Weekend in Virginia in September and the Vegas Dance Explosion the week before Thanksgiving in November. If, during a quiet moment, a song so inspires us, we want to continue to choreograph and keep that passion alive! So we plan on continuing to choreograph dances and send them out your way! After all, it is line dancing that brought us all together and you can't take the "line dance" out of us!
All four of us have performed in and choreographed many a show for the multiple events we have attended over the years. Little did we know that an opportunity such as this would all come together so quickly, where we can still create and DANCE! Thus, we have walked through that open door and taken a leap of faith, together. In one way or another, it was a dream come true for all of us! We believe that if we build it, they will come...
We hope that you will keep in touch with us and visit us in Pigeon Forge - there is lots to see and do! Our new website will be up and running in just a very few weeks - we will never be far away, thanks to the wonders of the Internet and of course the telephone! Plus we have all the great memories of dancing with all of you in our hearts.
So this is not goodbye but merely see you later! We will count on your continued well wishes and prayers and can't thank you enough for enriching our lives! Love and blessings to you all!
Doug and Jackie Miranda
