Some of the very old dances still seem popular such as Pot of Gold. When you weren't taught them first time around it's hard to pick them up.

I can't read a step sheet,

If a class dances the same old dance at every social, they should teach them in a class every now and then.

Hi,

Anyone got any receipes (sp) for veggie bbqs please?

Done the veg. burgers & sausages, also have done the

sweetcorn (yummy) Also tried the skewers with mushrooms,

tomatoes, quorn pieces, corgettes and peppers.

It would be nice to try something different. As we are having nice

weather at the moment we're trying to have a few outdoor meals.

(Hope I havnt jinxed the weather now I've mentioned it)

Hi, I've been gone for so long you may have forgotten me. I stopped dancing for quite a while and got to a stage where I thought I wouldnt ever go again. Thank goodness my friends kept on and persuaded me to get back on the dance floor

Personally... I thought it was rubbish.. and talking to a few of my friends last night - they agree its a very bad gay stereotype type of joke dance. Besides it had naff all to do with todays linedance scene and akin to 'country bumpkins picnic dance'.

FOOLS GOLD - Comedy - Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson...

Modern day treasure hunt set in the Caribbean (where else) with a (as always) love interest angle. Matthew who has a good bod seems to have it written in his contract that he MUST expose his chest at every oppo - bit overdone maybe. Good film actually. (12.)

CASHBACK - whimsical (and norty) day dreams... being replugged at the mo by Michele Ryan (ex-Eastenders.... and ex-Bionic Woman). Had this film a couple of years . Never ...

My favourite dance is Roman Holiday and as a bonus my favourite song at the moment is "On an evening in Roma" by Patrizio Buanne. It also helps that he is so goodlooking - Did anyone spot him in the linedancer mag ? I suggested to my class that we have a competittion and the prize a trip to Roma - no takers so far - I'm puzzled clearly not everyone's favourite - but Im having fun and enjoying the dance for now. Are there anymore fans out there.

This dance has been around for nearly ten years and has seen some good dance time (not only my words). It has now been given a new lease of life by Winnie Yu of Canada, whom due to the number of requests has video'd the dance and placed it on YouTube.

Just started learning "Miss you 2" found it very hard the first week especially the last few counts and the timing. Second week was much better, as our instructor Mandy broke the dance down into easy to follow segments and calling out the timiing istead of the steps helped. I really liked this dance as it was a challenge and we were doing fine until she said "now I will show you the arm movements"!!! I reckon we will have mastered it after another couple of sessions. I really like this dance.. it has a very genuine 'happy' feel to it (as opposed to the overworked 'fun' word). Room for artistic embellishment gives the dance an added bonus. Yep... I really like this one.

Why DO they do that�

Why do some choreographers feel its necessary to produce a dance with say 1st January 2008 as the date it was choreographed� then reproduce the SAME dance but to a different piece of music and give it ANOTHER (later) date as choreographed. They may even give it another title (and aka the original title underneath...maybe).

Just WHO are they trying to fool� or con.

Are they just desperate to �add another� dance to their roster � to boost their ego�s ???

X Factor stars the MacDonald Brothers said they would stay loyal to their Scottish fans as they announced a new album deal.

Craig, 21, and Brian MacDonald, 20, have teamed up with former Bay City Roller Stuart Wood and signed a two-album contract with independent label The Music Kitchen .

The brothers, who are from Ayr, will release their self-titled album on April 2.

Alan was at our club a few weeks ago and really had us all very well entertained. I would not say he covered all the latest dances, but he tried his best to give us a good cross section of good old country old ones and some modern ones. Its interesting that as these entertainers travel the country they tend to think that whats popular in say Essex will be popular in Norfolk. WRONG!!! Alan gets round that little problem by always having a plan b or even a plan C.

Every year... well most... there are always grumblings regarding the dances that win the awards. Not about the actual dances - but the level which the choreographers have leveled them at.

This year a new award was introduced - that of Absolute Beginner Dance Of The Year..

This, the first year the award went to Val Myers and Deana Randall for their dance 'Simply Mambo'.

Tip: listen to the music - feel it - it has a Latino flavour.. treat the dance in the same way. Shorten the steps/movements and use plenty of hip and hand/arm action for extra styling.

Slide into the "Electric Slide" debate

Hi,

For a while now the 'origins' of the dance commonly known as 'The Electric Slide' have been questioned. The music, the steps... even the choreographer have been questioned.

It would be interesting to hear what other people make of this... besides the 'who cares' and 'it was too long ago to worry about it' brigade (but what if it was them - change their tune then wouldn't they..).

The debate has quite far reaching implications ... as it may also effect a few things (and Choreographers) ...
