I WAS gonna put this under the thread 'Why Do They Do That'... but I thought ...'this has gotta some kind of larrrrrf Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy ... yeah?'... so here goes..

ANDY ABRAHAM... y'know, that likable guy who won the 'whatever- it-was-called' pop stardom thingy... well ... correct if If I am wrong... but that was something like around two years ago.... scratch ... He's had a couple of albums out... the latest one I thought was really good - but flopped like a Bishops cassock over a choir boys head... Embarassed ...

Well, as you know... maybe... he is representing the UK [sic] in the Eurovision 2008 with 'Even If' a VERY Sidney Younglood soundalike song ('If Only I Could')... his new album..'Even If' (very original title...) is out on 2nd June... BUT..... in the meantime.......and out TOMORROW is

....The VERY BEST of Andy Abraham..... like... sorry.... run that title by me again...and again...and again.......To coin a phrase made popular by John McEnroe... 'For **** sake.. you cannot be serious'...

BUT... do you know what the strangest thing is ... those very best of albums can usually be found in the bargain bin about 5 years after the singers prime for a measly £3-4.... but NOT this time around... the price is.... £3.99 BEFORE it hits the bargain bin... ya gotta larrrf.... what a great koo for the record company.. loads of people will be buying the cheap as chips Very Best of album BEFORE Eurovision.... and as most know .. the Eurovision is like the 'kiss of death' to most of the UK entrants.
But as Andy does have a seriously good singing voice... I really hope we aint seen the last of him.

I liked his song and he could definitely sing. But I don't think he's likely to win. Would be good if he did though.

I wonder how it feels to see your hard won CD in the bargain bin. Still I suppose a sale is a sale Neutral

Welllllllllll.... thats another year over with.... Eurovision Song Contest that is....

Now... I didn't watch it other that about 4 or 5 minutes... but I DID see part of Handy Andy's performance... not bad... but hang on.... that song... its been given an up beat backing surely...yep.... the arrangement is somewhat/noticibly different from the original version.. but no matter - it was still good.

extra: 26.05.08. read in web journal that the reason for the change in arrangement was due to..... too many people had remarked on the similarity between Andy's and Sidney Youngbloods - wellllllllllllll whatdoyaknow..

...and.....

Sir Terry Wogan said he may quit as the BBC's Eurovision commentator, as the UK entry sung by former X Factor finalist Andy Abraham finished in last place.

Sir Terry cast doubt on his role after saying this year's results showed it was "no longer a music contest".

Now ... I doubt VERY much if Terry is quitting because its getting too 'political'... if he says he is.... he's telling mega porkies 'cos.. why didn't he quit 10 years ago when the 'politic points'started to rear its head BIG time.... or even 5 years ago.... he didn't because it possibly paid mega books.

Though it has to be said and simply because of this PP voting that 'western' Europe tries to recreate the original idea for Eurovision by, as many people are now saying 'breaking away from the 'politics of Eurovision'.
